February 26th - 4.5 Sacks & A Fan
Today was a tough one, I didn’t actually want to go out. I was tired, I had a lot of computer work to do for Flummoxed and it was cold and basically, I needed to stay home but I didn’t, I still went out.
Two parts of my mission today was to a) clear the plastic which appeared near the Co-op (looks like plastic wrap from their deliveries) along the hedgerow and b) to get the Costa cups collected from Tarvin Roundabout.
I set off, with my trolley of course and managed to get down to Tarvin roundabout where I was lucky enough to pick a quiet time of just after 08:00 in the morning to get over to the roundabout and clear the 15 Costa cups which clearly one specific idiot thinks its OK to go around the roundabout and throw them out of the window every day. Ive watched them pile up over the past two weeks so dealt with them.
I’ve also been seeing. HUGE amount of rubbish build up on the approach to the roundabout from Chester so I decided to go as far as the new Ventura development on Holme Street/Tarvin Road and this is where my day got better. A guy ran across the busy road shouting at me which worried me but it turns out that Wally from Oak House wanted to thank me so much that he left his house, ran over the road and shook my hand.
I want to thank Wally for making my day and also for letting me know that he and his 5-year old son cover the stretch from their driveway left and right and I look forward to teaming up to do a bit more work around there, such a nice guy and it felt so nice to be appreciated so much by someone and great to know I have support from him and his family.
Needless to say, I doubled back at that point and went up Kelsall Road to collect the plastic left by the Co-op then back through Tarvin before going home to shave and shower before going back to my computer work!

Can you Help?
I am proud to live where I do and I am also proud to be collecting this rubbish in my own time but it is more than a one-man job. We need a coordinated team effort which is permanent and sustained. If you could volunteer or help me raise funds for tools, please, click the button…
