March 11th - 1 Sack - Tarvin Village Clean Update
Having done what I did yesterday, today I wanted to just do a quick round the village lap with just my hoop and picker.
I was aware of a number of items I had seen around the village during the week and I wanted to go and get them as I knew they were on my mind.
I was out by the church and I heard someone speak to me from a car on the road, funny story, it was Caroline, one of my supporters who had been taking her sister for a drive and her sister asked “who has dumped all of that rubbish by the bin on the Oscroft turn”, to which Caroline has replied “well, let me tell you a story” and sure enough, then I appear!!
We had a little chat and I told Caroline’s sister what I’ve been doing and she thanked me for my efforts.
I carries on and did my loop and still managed to fill a sack in 45 minutes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem that Nancy has been out this week and I noticed a fair amount of litter on Tarporley Road but that will have to wait. I’m exhausted.
When I got home and sat down, I was very pleased to have seen a message from the Chairman of the Parish Council thanking me. I don’t know if that was because he saw the huge pile or not but he wants to raise awareness of Tarvin Village Clean this year.

Due to the amount I am collecting every week, this year should be much easier and faster for everyone so please don’t get put off.
You can afford to be more meticulous; if it didn’t grow there, its not natural, if it wasn’t installed or planted there, the chances are it is rubbish. Anything that glints, rustles or is out of place goes in the bin!
I will try and take part as long as I’m not working but regardless I will be out as I always am.

I am proud to live where I do and I am also proud to be collecting this rubbish in my own time but it is more than a one-man job. We need a coordinated team effort which is permanent and sustained. If you could volunteer or help me raise funds for tools, please, click the button…
