Tarvin Village

March 5th - 7 Sacks

This was another week where both myself and Nancy headed out. Nancy’s route is the light coloured one and mine is the dark in the maps.

My main focus was something I haven’t done since the first week in the COVID lockdown; Tarporley Road, the bypass.

Yes, I know its dangerous but no one is attempting to do any of these roads and by that, I mean the Council or anyone else so if no one else is going to, I have to.

Again, I cleared the Costa coffee cups from Tarvin Roundabout because the moron dumping them every day doesn’t seem to want to let up.

I also collected all of the RTA rubbish from the side of the roundabout and logged it in the Report it app as well as the truck tyre on Holme Street.

I managed to fill 6 sacks in the section from Tarvin Roundabout to the first entrance to the community woodland  off of Hockenhull Lane.

I will be going back to get what I couldn’t once I had run out of sacks. At some point I will then move on to the section between the two woodland entrances as well as the verge which enters the slip lane into the back end of the village.

I will be writing an email to Costa coffee to find out what they will be doing about the waste they generate which I will upload here.

I know that next week I will have to do some cleaning within the village itself as this is suffering whilst I have been out doing the periphery but I hope you appreciate it and can tell.

I also plan on contacting the council asking what they plan to do for the litter and contacting the press too. I drive to Costco yesterday and I am drawn to all of the litter now. In every hedgerow, on every pavement, in every lay-by and curb-side, Chester is riddled with litter and I have never known it like this in my life and I’ve never seen such invisible inactivity from the authorities to resolve it.

Can you Help?

I am proud to live where I do and I am also proud to be collecting this rubbish in my own time but it is more than a one-man job. We need a coordinated team effort which is permanent and sustained. If you could volunteer or help me raise funds for tools, please, click the button…
